Make Your Own Painting Box

For any fellow painters out there, here is a shot of one of my pochade boxes, used for plein air work.

If you would like more information about how to make one yourself, go to my other painting blog (for non-portrait work) for instructions and more photographs:

Laurel, I have a question really. In your directions for placing a nut into the bottom of the box, you say that it has horizontal claws that attach to the wood. Not being handy with such things, could you please give more info on this type of nut, please. My email address is: Jeanel123@gmail.com Thanks. Jean

Hi Jean,

I will try and find one to photograph and post since I don't think I can explain it any better with words.

In the meantime, if you go to a hardware store and describe what you want to do, they will know what to show you.

All the best with your box!
